Calli Hughes


LIPA 4:19 Acting Teacher

Born in Athens, Greece, Calli trained with LAMDA and is currently Head of Drama of a Wirral High School. She has a wealth of teaching experience and has directed numerous productions, both theatrical and musical.

Her students have excelled at many dramatic events including the Spotlight For Youth festivals and the Wirral Show. Her pupils have also won many awards at the Leverhulme Drama Festival. Calli has been a judge on Wirral’s Got Talent for the past two years. More recently some of her students performed with Kate Nash at the Southbank Centre, London as well as having secured leading roles in Channel E4’s Misfits.

Calli is also an experienced singer, having fronted her own band in the 1990’s and her solo album Remember Me achieved critical acclaim. Fluent in Greek and French, Calli is able to perform in a variety of styles and has worked as a semi professional performer throughout the North West.

During her varied career, Calli has worked with Liverpool personalities including Sean Styles, Pauline Daniels and Mickey Finn and has also enjoyed appearing in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
