Jo Cook-Watkin is a singing teacher, vocalist and actress who is based on the Wirral. She graduated from Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, with a 1st class honours degree in Performing Arts (Music).
Jo has 13 years teaching experience and was one of the original members of staff for the first LIPA 4:19 Academy. She has been musical director & voice coach for many children's musical productions as well as teaching on BTEC & degree courses. Jo currently delivers Singing & Musical Theatre modules at Edge Hill University and is passionate about being involved in developing and supporting the next generation of talent. She continues to attend workshops & seminars to update & enhance her knowledge.
Jo has 24 years professional performance experience. She has gigged & recorded as a singer/songwriter and session vocalist. Credits include: 'Russell Watson UK Tour' (including The Royal Albert Hall), 'Australian Pink Floyd', 'Sergio Makaroff Spain Tour' plus work across Europe. As a Beatles fan, Jo is proud to have performed for Sir Paul McCartney twice!
Theatre credits include: 'Bad Girls the Musical' (Garrick, West End), 'I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change' & 'Look Back in Anger' (London & Dubai) plus work with the NSTC.
T.V. & Film credits include: 'A Touch of Frost' (Yorkshire TV), 'The Electrician' (TAMK Films), 'Butterfly Kiss' (Michael Winterbottom) and various adverts.
Currently she prefers to work closer to home so that she can enjoy raising her 2 young daughters with actor/writer husband Matt.
