Originally from Portugal, Patricia Mateus began her dance training from a very young age following the RAD syllabus, taking examinations up to grade 7 - all with Distinctions.
Continuing her passion for dance, Patricia graduated in 2003 with a BA Honours in Performing Arts at the Dance University in Lisbon, Portugal. Upon graduating she joined a musical production for one year as a dancer in 'My Fair Lady', by Felipe La Feria. Following on from this work, she continued a dance career with contemporary dance companies in Lisbon such as Evora, touring through Portugal, Acores , Europe, South America and Africa.
In 2005, Patricia moved to England, pursuing a career as a performer and a dance teacher, specialising in ballet and contemporary dance. Since then she had the pleasure of working with many dance artists and institutions across the North West. She has since expanded her interest and practice to explore various different styles of dance, including contact improvisation, tap, african, chinese and latin fusion.
Patricia is very excited to be a part of the LIPA 4-19 team at Pensby
