Sarah Dwyer

Sarah trained at Dolphin Dance Studios - a full time vocational programme where she studied many dance forms including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, musical theatre, street dance, hip-hop, drama and singing. She then went on to obtain her teacher status with the United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dance, gaining her teaching qualification in Modern Jazz, although her specialist styles have always been street and commercial dance as well as musical theatre. In 2015 Sarah decided to enhance her dance and teaching qualifications, undertaking some professional development and is due to graduate as a registered teacher with a Diploma from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance in July 2018.

Her performance career as a dancer has included variety shows, pantomimes, fashion shows and music videos for artists such as Kelly Llorenna and Ultrabeat. In 2014, she joined an all female dance group that performed to thousands on match days at various football stadiums in the North West. Later that year she also joined the cast of 'Totally Tina', on a world touring production that celebrates the music of Tina Turner. Sarah's latest and greatest dance achievement was performing alongside Darcey Bussell for Her Majesty The Queen as well as other members of the Royal Family live on BBC1 as part of The Queen's 90th birthday celebrations in June 2016.

Sarah has dedicated a lot of her time to teaching and choreographing. She has worked in all aspects of dance education, from stage and theatre schools, to primary and high schools, further and higher education including colleges and universities as well as corporate and commercial work. She is currently a lecturer in dance at the City of Liverpool College, training the next generation of dance professionals.

Outside of the academic and educational settings, Sarah has worked and choreographed countless dance and variety shows, community projects, events, musical productions and music festivals. Favourite choreographic credits are a performance at the Widnes Vikings Rugby Stadium for 4000 spectators as well as SKY Sports viewers. Most recent choreographic work was for Peel Talent & Thomson Cruise ships, where she was assistant choreographer creating a show on board the brand new Thomson Discovery Cruise Ship. Sarah gained her first West End credit as choreographer for 'The Ruby Slippers' a play at the Arts Theatre in London's West End in July 2017.

Sarah has worked for LIPA 4:19 for a number of years and is delighted to be appointed the Academy Principal for Pensby LIPA 4:19, passing on her experience and nurturing the next generation of talent!
