We want everyone who visits the LIPA 4:19 website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

What are we doing?

To help us make the LIPA 4:19 website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We've chosen Level AA as the target for the LIPA 4:19 website.

How are we doing?

We've worked hard on the LIPA 4:19 website, and believe we've achieved our target of Level AA accessibility. But if you do find any problems, please get in touch.

What does this mean for you?

Browsers and Operating Systems all offer various features to support accessibility.  The Web Accessibility Initiative site has some useful information: http://www.w3.org/WAI/users/browsing. Two common factors are also detailed below (information correct at publishing date):

Text size

You can increase or decrease the text size by using the features in your browser - in summary:

Internet explorer

  • What to select: View > Text Size; or
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl++.

Firefox

  • What to select: View > Zoom > Zoom in and you can choose to zoom the whole page or text only; or
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl++.

Google chrome

  • What to select: Select the wrench, scroll to Zoom and choose a setting; or
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl++.

Colours

Some browsers have features that allow you change to a specific colour scheme, again, information can be found on the Web Accessibility Initiative site.
