What is LIPA 4-19?

LIPA 4-19 is a part-time performing arts academy for 4-19 year olds, set up by The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts – a vocational performing arts university, which was co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney.

What can I do at LIPA 4-19?

You can learn to sing, dance and act, taught by fully trained, experienced professionals in their chosen fields.

Open to all, there are also advanced classes for those wishing to take their performing arts practice to the next level, or even considering training for a career in the performing arts.

Most of all, however, LIPA 4-19 classes are fun and a great way to make new friends.

What if I've never studied singing, dancing or acting before?

Don't worry - our structured approach means that all students – of whatever age – develop their performing arts skills at the correct pace, building confidence as they go.  Our classes also stimulate imagination and creativity, enhancing students' interpersonal and presentation skills.

When are classes held?

Our UK academies operate on weekends or after school usually over three terms of 12 weeks.

4 to 6 year olds enjoy one and half hours of classes each week, while 7 to 19 year olds enjoy three hours of classes each week.

Learning the performing arts is about learning all key disciplines even though we may be only gifted in certain areas. Gaining skills and perfecting others is all part of it. LlPA 4-19's philosophy is to encourage and nurture these main key skills. Through innovative teaching programmes we believe most students will develop the confidence to gain skills in all areas to succeed in the profession.
