LIPA 4-19 Drama Theatre Company Director

Les graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and then toured the UK performing in different theatre productions; as well as directing different shows and projects.

After performing Les continued to direct and then began teaching which led him to Italy where he was the Drama Co-ordinator at The International School of Treviso. 

Les was Head of Drama and Theatre at Windermere School in the Lake District for five years and directed numerous Musical Theatre productions, such as: The King and I, Les Miserables and Oliver. 

Les holds two PGCEs to teach drama in secondary, further and higher education establishments and has a Masters Degree in Making Performance -specialising in the French traditional theatre practice Grand Guignol. 

Les is the Creative Director of a local theatre company License To Thrill who hold one unique event each year in Liverpool.

Presently Les is full time lecturer teaching acting on a vocational Musical Theatre course in Salford and is one of the Season Director's at the Pendleton Theatre School Centre of Excellence. His most recent production was The History Boys. 

Les has been part of the LIPA 4–9 teaching team for over 10 years and is the LIPA 4-19 Youth Theatre Director, directing numerous sell out shows.

He is delighted to be back on board the main Saturday academy teaching the 16+ students.
